Data Engineer
Reports to: Director of Data and Analytics
Position: Full-time, salaried
Location: Remote
Salary Range: $125,000 – $160,000

We are looking for an experienced, mission-driven data engineer to join our growing data analytics team. Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in understanding data engineering concepts including data warehousing, ELT implementation, pipelines, data modeling, and providing impactful data management solutions to challenging business problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines and data models to support business requirements across various systems and manage all processes in support of maintaining and optimizing the data integrity and performance of enterprise data warehouse.
  • Elicit and translate business requirements into data ingestion, processing, pipeline management, and storage designs and develop technical specifications and standards to implement appropriate ETL/ELT frameworks and data transformation processes.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues to ensure integrity of data from multiple sources, establish and document appropriate data pipeline and model development standards, data cleansing and quality checks, monitoring, and alerts and notifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to employ data-oriented processes and solutions to support data governance and maximize business efficiency.
  • Become a subject-matter expert on enterprise data warehouse management while supporting all aspects of data management initiatives and conduct analysis as needed to provide insights to meet business objectives and data SLAs.
  • Create and design reports, data visualizations, and dashboards to present insights in a clear and concise manner as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or other relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in the data warehouse space.
  • 5+ years of experience in custom ETL/ELT design, implementation, and maintenance with expertise in enterprise data management solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience in architecting and implementing data pipelines, streaming solutions, stored procedures, and batch integrations automating and optimizing end-to-end data flow and processing across various platforms using tools such as Snowpipe, Fivetran, AWS Glue ETL, Lambda, Spark, Kafka, etc.
  • 3+ years of deep hands-on experience in schema design and dimensional data modeling with deep knowledge and experience working with modern databases like Snowflake, Postgres, Redshift, etc.
  • 5+ years of deep hands-on experience in writing complex SQL statements with expertise in performance tuning and implementing data quality assurance and integration processes.

Preferred:

  • Experience in developing Snowflake data models and ELT using Snowpipe, with expertise in the concepts and practical applications of Snowflake features including virtual warehouse, zero copy cloning, RBAC controls, etc. highly preferred.
  • Experience in developing robust DBT models for scalable reporting, analysis, and insights framework highly preferred.
  • Experience in designing and implementing APIs for third-party data ingest and integration.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and proven track record of having integrity, discretion, dedicated work ethic, and desire for ownership and accountability.
  • Experience with pipeline orchestration tools like Airflow or Luigi.

Senior Developer (Rails and React)

ROLE OVERVIEW:
Our team develops full stack code for ruby and rails framework for the core RecoveryOne product line. Developers work independently and in collaboration on product design, implementation, testing and deployment. We are seeking candidates that are passionate about user experience, curious about ways to improve the patient healthcare experience, focused on quality (without being militant), and entrepreneurial in approach. RecoveryOne and the development team continue to grow rapidly and are seeking a teammate that can thrive in a startup environment.

NOTE: This position is considered remote-friendly and, subsequently, accommodates candidates from any US location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, test and support features for the RecoveryOne application
  • Collaborate with designers, product stakeholders and customers to build full stack solutions
  • Assist in the defining and aligning development team priorities
  • Developing and implementing highly responsive user interface components using the latest React concepts
  • Participate in the definition, refinement, estimation and prioritization of product features
  • Work closely with the development team in a collaborative, Agile development environment
  • Create independently and in teams to deliver features in a timely and high-quality manner
  • Support the client success team in responding to customer issues and feedback
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Review and approve code from team members
  • Adhere to the development team’s practice and policies for Agile development
  • Provide feedback and guidance in the continuous improvement of the development process and environment
  • Investigate database query efficiency, performance bottlenecks and make suggestions to improve and support the product growth

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related field or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience as a software developer
  • Must have: 4 years working with RoR, 2 years of ReactJS, JavaScript, Git/GitHub, SQL, Rspec / React Testing Library (or equivalent) and experience in all major browsers
  • Nice to have: PostgreSQL, Heroku, DevOps(DNS, Load Balancing, Hosting, Scalability, WAF), Rails API vs MVC, Cordova or CapacitorJs, data analysis, analytics through Heap or equivalent
